About Glen

Artist, metalsmith Glen West apprenticed with his father, Howard West throughout the 1980's. Howard, after a career as welding engineer for the Gemini Space Program, embarked to become one of the most sought-after metal sculpture fabricators in the U.S. working with the likes of Charles Ginnever, Sidney Gordin, and Peter Voulkos.

After years of apprenticing in our Emeryville, CA, studio, Glen collaborated with his father on many works of art. The study of metalworking became a passion for Glen and he marvels even now at the possibilities for metal art. Glen has created a vast array of metal projects for artists, architects, and contractors.

In the movie "Sabrina", Harrison Ford was so fascinated with the geometric "touch lamp" you see on the movie set, that he took it home. Paramount Pictures sent Glen behind-the-scenes photographs to insure authenticity.

Interior sculpture is his current passion with the focus of bringing to life "forgotten recycled metals"..."Natures beauty is forever present in the metal, bringing the elements back to life makes it that much more interesting and unique." The Ocean Series called "Dangerous Waves" are exemplifying movement, nature's power and beauty, while incorporating vibrant colors. Each piece distinct, eternal.
